This is basically replicating this deal:

It's not a repost because the prices changed but same store(s).
I got side tracked last time - looking for whether the $10 of $20 Samsung Pay and or any Cashback promos made this a hotter deal. It went for less $99 with the AMEX deal in November but that was pretty short lived.

Amazon lowest price ever is $128 so this is only a little higher. Tempted to fire in.

SALE3 code may not be applied to electronics and items which are already on sale.

I successfully used SALE3 yesterday on this player for the 10% off just before the above comment.

Very strange. Am I the only one who receive "error" message in return with the link to coupon rules description?

Sony just announced a new player that will support Dolby Vision.

Blows my mind that the 800 doesn't.
It is not like the player has to do much, the TV does all the work.

So instead of updating it with firmware, they make you buy a new player.

Only Sony.

Just received my one from Groupon. 6 days order processing time + overnight delivery. As I was expected it is not UBP-X800 but UBP-UX80 instead (was sure this model is not on sale anymore). But it should be OK since the only difference I see is that UBP-UX80 is coming with HDMI cable in the box and UBP-X800 is not.

Is the interface on Sony blue ray players still awful? I hate the one I have.

Torn. Was hoping to hold out for DV but concerned this is the last model year for 3D players. Anyone heard anything about new LG models?

At this point I would pass. New models released at CES that supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+. I own the x800 and like it a lot but for future proofing I'd pass.

LG promised to add Dolby Vision through firmware update to UP970 later this year.

No 3D though. Still, think I am gonna hold out for a DV player and just keep my PS3 for the occasional 3D movie.
