Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® by Robert Jordan has captivated millions of readers around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters.

The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth returns again. In the Third Age, an Age of Prophecy, the World and Time themselves hang in the balance. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow.

For three days battle has raged in the snow around the great city of Tar Valon. In the city, a Foretelling of the future is uttered. On the slopes of Dragonmount, the immense mountain that looms over the city, is born an infant prophesied to change the world. That child must be found before the forces of the Shadow have an opportunity to kill him.
Moiraine Damodred, a young Accepted soon to be raised to Aes Sedai, and Lan Mandragoran, a soldier fighting in the battle, are set on paths that will bind their lives together. But those paths are filled with complications and dangers, for Moiraine, of the Royal House of Cairhien, whose king has just died, and Lan, considered the uncrowned king of a nation long dead, find their lives threatened by the plots of those seeking power.

"New Spring" related some of these events, in compressed form; New Spring: The Novel tells the whole story.

Is this not included in any "complete" sets of these WoT books? I want to read them all and have been waiting on a deal for years...

Does "Book 0" mean Book 1 shouldn't be the starting point for a new reader? Or does it just mean it's a prequel, probably read book 1 first and get to 0 whenever

Indeed Book 0 is a prequel. It should be read after book 9 or 10.

Scored a copy. Thanks op.

I've read this series and it IS tedious, but a good story nonetheless.

I wouldn't dare let my 10 year old read it...too many sexual references. Those Aes Sedai were witches Smilie

Highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys fantasy or anything by Brandon Sanderson. Make sure not to start with this book, but start with Eye of The World. This book is to be read after book 10 IMO.

You won't get a lot of the stuff if you read this as a prequel and as the first in the series. You will get more out of this if you read it closer to the end or as the last book. Great series and was thankfully finished beautifully at the end which was a monumental task.

I doubt you have read more than book one, or even finished book one. This is one of the greatest fantasy epics written and spans 11,916pp (PB) / 10,173pp (HB), 4,410,036 words but for your simpleton mind I suggest you get the audio book that only takes 19d 5h 25m.

No actually i was around 21 when the first book came out, i had just come off the Dragonlance chronicles if i remember rightly, and was hungry for anything of the same genre. I read the first 4 or 5 books then disovered Feist, Donaldson and others, which made me realise just how bad the wheel of time was.
But i did read LoTR when i was 11, Silmarillion @ 12.
