and ya know what else is a fad? cars
it's so much better for you to walk/jog 20miles to and from work every day

Of course it's better to eat the veggies whole, but are you really going to slam a large quantity of leafy greens, tomatoes, carrots, beets, etc. every day? If so, great. For most people juicing allows them to get a lot of those nutrients in a more palatable form.

Consider the following before you buy. Slow juicers give your more juice. This is not a slow juicer.

I have this juicer and I couldn't be happier. The best feature is the easy clean up. 7 parts to clean. They are all large and rinses easily. Takes no more than 3-4 min. Nothing like fresh apple juice in the morning.

I paid 15 at a yardsale new. Juiced for a month. Realized I was paying more for a fad and wasting more. While there are some proven benefits from juicing, you actually get more from eating the fruits and vegitables. It's like a bread maker. Use it a few times and sits in the shelf.

For the price cant beat the juicer, that is about how much my first juicer cost, my next ones were $350 and now $650. Great for in taking large amounts of missing nutrients without having to eat 5 pounds of food a day. The rest of the stuff you can use for compost or some people use it for baking.
