Sorry, don't have time to post all the info, but the Weber Genesis II 6 burner Propane grill is $700 down from $1300.

Check the photos I took and attached to see the various prices/discounts.

The II is not made in the USA. Nor are the spirit models. Such a shame.

Has that affected their quality?

I haven't needed a grill in forever so I don't know

Dang. Didn't know that. I've got a Genesis 1 and it's made in USA. 4 years ago at least when I bought it, all Genesis was made in USA and spirit made in China. Sad..

Unlikely to affect the cooking performance but I can't confirm from first-hand experience. Personally, I hate the II series b/c of the lack of enclosed cabinets. The warranty has changed but in most cases it's actually better than before (main exception is the housing). You should do your own research, but here's a short summary of the warranty difference between prior made in USA models vs the new made in China "II" series:

"The housing is now guaranteed for 10 years, not 25. The flavorizer bars are now good for 10 years, not 5. The grates are also good for 10 years, not 5. In the earlier line, the porcelain-coated, enameled grates were guaranteed for 3 years, and that is now 5. Before the bars were guaranteed for 2 years, now it is 5 years. The ignition is now guaranteed for 10 years, a big jump from the prior 2 years."

Decent prices if you need a grill right now... I'm hoping there's another clearance price drop at HD before the Superbowl so I can grab one for around $99 less than today's price...

Weber has gone downhill, none of their new lines use the 400 series stainless steel and thus a magnet will stick to it which means more likely to rust over time.

At the prices they demand you are better off buying other brands for 1/3 the cost and just replace 1/2 as often, still win out.

I bought a Costco sold unit for like 600-700 and it's awesome and all higher end stainless steel

Just checked Consumer Reports. Weber does quite well in the ratings. Of course, one should check the exact model as each model is different.

If you are in the market for a grill this is a kicka$$ deal. Yes some of the manufacturing has moved offshore but even when manufacturingwas 100% in the US not not the parts were made hear. Weber is a great company so even if you have a issue they will stand behind their products.

Do not over think this if you need a grill and these fall into your price range.
