Don't be tricked into thinking that all nvme drives fix the sata bottleneck it should be pointed out here that wd is using planar TLC NAND. One may want to consider the nature of their projected workload and keep in mind the benchmarks performed by anandtech https://www.anandtech.com/show/11...2gb-review

Got one few weeks ago for my Asus q524uq since it seemed that M.2 slot on it only supported x2 speeds so decided not to pay $30 more for 960 evo since wouldn't gain the x4 speeds anyways. So far the speed is nice, does seem to work slightly faster than SATA intel 545s i used before that (cloned from it and set as backup storage drive now in same laptop) Benchmark showed 1300/400 read/write and score was 3x of the intel. Not sure about the heat from it since I also installed two layers of thermal pads so drive now is pressed against aluminum bottom of the laptop so its been hovering 20-43 C with max load so far.

I bought this same one from last deal, and I got 1800/700 read/write. it seems your speed is a little slower in comparison.

I guess it depends on other hardware and main board. Considering Asus tech doesn't even admit the fact that there's M2 slot available to be used I guess I'm lucky the thing even works at these speeds. My main thing though is not benchmarks I see super fast speeds at boot up (5-7 seconds boot from completely off) and file transfers are fast enough for me for the next few years.
