WAY too small to be useful at 80 grams (indoor only basically) and $100 is MSRP, so not really a "slick deal" preorder or anything.

What is "useful" in a drone? What does weight have to do with it? Are you trying to carry a camera on a gimbal or something?

It's toy drone and It's not made by DJI.
It will have direct competition with parrot mambo.
The company just borrows DJI name and marketing this toy drone.

I useful drone is generally one that can accomplish some kind of task, outside of just the basic pure recreation of a toy drone.

The smaller drones are generally called "selfie-drones" as opposed to the proper camera drones that have a gimbal.

They generally have 4K cameras non-gimbaled, GPS, brushless motors, and moderate overall performance, with limited wifi range, with a weight around the 250 grams mark.

Weight matters, because the really tiny feather toy drones are often so insanely light, that the smallest breeze blows them all over the place, and the less stable it is, the more the camera video feed looks like a drunken one legged sailor trying to film on the high seas.

That I agree with completely.

It might be neat, depending on how cheap these go. I'd love to get a Mambo if I could find one of those $25 deals.

I had cool Millenium falcon drone and it was cool for 5min then I realized that it's unstable so returned it. After I return it, I got mambo. Very stable but can't use it outdoor but kept it for practicing drone. Bought decent value real drone (hubsan). Very different than mambo since it's designed for outdoor and practiced decent time. Not a bad for price but still need better drone so I got DJI spark. If anyone wants to get serious, DJI is only choice in my opinion.
Spark does not have 4K but still producing good videos and pics.

As soon as I saw the title, I thought wow DJI drone for $99 but when I see detail about the drone, it was meh.... since the just borrowed DJI name and possible DJI's technologies. Mambo does not take good pics and probably this might be better drone than mambo.

Well, I think the reason you like your Spark is because:

1) Brushless motors
2) Compass
3) GPS
4) 2-axis gimbal
5) 300 gram weight

Combined, that puts it in a much higher class. This at 80 grams, optical only with no compass or GPS, no gimbal, and only 80 grams weight, and brushed motors, I hope I'm wrong, but I can't imagine it being much different than the Mambo.

My gut tells me to at least wait for reviews before ordering.
