Be aware that to get full light output you will need 18650 batteries and a compatible charger.

For a low cost LED flashlight, these Anker's do a pretty good job. They also accept (in lieu of the 3 - AAA's) 2 - CR123a lithium batteries which provide the same performance as a 18650 battery. I use some of my Surefire CR123a's in them and they work great.

Got this a few weeks ago when they were $8 each, this flashlight is pretty crappy IMO. The high and low modes are barely even different, like I can literally not tell which I'm in, and you have to go through a disorienting strobe mode to get from high to low which is a big flaw...not to mention only 3 modes in a light like this is pretty meh. Also the memory function seemed to not work on mine even after 10 seconds as their customer service rep told me. I returned mine as l would've never ended up using this since I have others like the convoy that are much better and maybe a dollar or two more. Just my two cents, I think this flashlight is several years behind with the amazing cheap lights you can find now.

What are you nuts??? This is an $8 flashlight.... I bought one the last time too and I love it. It's a perfect no frills bright flashlight. I use it for finding the boat ramps in the dark fishing the ocean inlets.

Does anyone make a flashlight in this size that only has on/off instead of dim/bright/flash? I really hate the flash mode on these types of lights.

Read that as requiring 18,650 batteries...

Honestly, have you used other 18650 flashlights in the past few years? The convoy s2+ was on here last month for 6.99 and is about twice the flashlight as this--better quality body, no hot spot, actual memory settings, switches between 3 and 6 mode settings, etc. This anker doesn't even properly fit an 18650 battery because they skimped out on a 5 cent plastic sleeve.

So I guess that's why we differ in opinion. I love this light because it uses AAA, I'm honestly not pro enough to use 18650 batteries. So maybe for people who love flashlights and are into more advanced battery types this flashlight doesn't impress, but to a regular Joe who grew up on mag-lites this flashlight is pretty awesome.
