FYI - added this to the ID distance list:

LaView 2MP 1080p fisheye WiFi camera LV-PWF80216-W 1080p at 185 degrees: 5.95 feet { 57.13 sq feet covered }

Summary, would make a great camera for wall areas where the suspect will be nearby.
( such as by your door, unfortunately it is not a outdoor rated camera - and due to the fisheye lens it maybe an issue finding a case for it. )

Mat2000... seems like this would make a good baby cam when paired w an old android tablet, correct? Any experience w the app?

We currently have an old D-link 720p cam, but the app has far too many crashes and our son decided to rip the mount off the wall.

We will eventually have 2 when the newborn moves into her room, so hopefully this will work since I don't want to waste money on another d-link

Hi TaylorK07

I have little experience with the apps from LaView products, however iirc most of what LaView sells you can access the rtsp feed - thus you can get them to work with 3rd party apps and software. ( you do want to double check that on some of these type of cameras - as more camera brands are seeing the success of Ring and Nest products and like the idea of a recurring revenue stream from monthly cloud fees )

Also I am uncertain of what the requirements would be for a baby cam outside of wanting audio and a live visual view.

Do you need the IR lights to be invisible to the human eye? ( that would require 940nm IR LEDs, many products use 850nm as it is better for "seeing" in the dark )

The Fisheye lens will distort the image - so some people do not care for that.

You'll have to decide if the 185 degree view is an important quality for your needs.

I would also recommend considering the following camera, it is very well reviewed once you update the firmware. ( it has a much narrower FOV, which means a lot less distortion in the image )
