Whats the point of the 2-pack when two 1-packs cost $9.85 * 2 = $19.70? Is the promo code good for only a single use?

More important question, how does this compare to tile, cube, etc.?

I don't think the Tiles are rechargeable, but these are.

Love, love love that these are rechargeable! Gets an "A" from fakespot and reviews are very high (4.3 out of 5).

Going to give it a shot!

This is such a crappy device. It does not have a cellular data or gps. It only works in a mesh network of similar devices with how that one of them is connected to a smart phone to send data.

I think the description misrepresents its overall function. It is not a GPS that can contact a nearest cell tower to ping its location.
No but it will give you a position based on the location of the last device to see the item. It's s function of battery life. A tag with gps and data would need to be charged a couple times a week at least. It's not perfect, but could very well be useful. Your problem will be that for the network to be affective, other people need to use the same app.

If you've left something behind, chances are it won't move and your phone can show you where you last left it. However I think if you're trying to track something like a stolen wallet, you might need to rely on the mesh system.

Problem with rechargeable is that these type of items ideally are "attach to keychain and forget". Having to charge it, even just every few weeks, quickly becomes a chore....and the one time you lose your keys, the battery on the thing will be dead or quickly die....it is just my luck.

While Tiles and that ilk are costly, they are truly attach and forget about it until next year.

It would be nice to have a battery that lasts a few years, but we aren't there yet in these lower priced dealios.

Interesting points, but I would counter with the following:

1) At least one reviewer said battery life on these is "great" (so maybe more than a few weeks?). And no one sayign they have to recharge all the time. That's a good sign.

2) It will give you a battery level status on the app, so I will be able to do a "refill" in a timely fashion

3) recharging, even if it's every few weeks, won't be a big deal -- I'm recharing phones, tabs, flashlights all the time lol!

4) About the non-rechargeable ones -- this is my biggest point: I'm always PANICKED that the battery on those could go low or run out "any day now" and I have to start looking/preparing to buy the next battery or next key finder! egads. It's almost as bad as having a phone with a non-replaceable battery -- yuksters!

For just under 10 bucks, I'll chance it!

I don't think you really understand how bluetooth trackers work. The stuff you're saying about mesh networks is just silliness. No where in the product description does it list gps, that's just Amazon's breakdown. All bluetooth trackers work like this.

Nice price OP.

I like my Tile a great deal. It's been useful at least a few times in the past 3 months. I prefer Tile's non-rechargeable approach better. My Tile is used very infrequently. It would be a chore to constantly monitor the battery life and charge it every few weeks. Given it's infrequent use I doubt that I would be all that diligent about keeping up with charging it.

For many, recharging this device will be a big win. The prospect of keeping it over a year (vs Tile) is really nice. If I used my Tile more (lost my stuff) I could see going for this device. My use case and my personality - I'll go with the set-it and forget-it model of Tile.

Cheap product, but the asks app for every permission under the sun, including microphone. That's the biggest thing that's keep me from it, aside from the monthly recharge.

It's absurd that no battery life is given in the product description when battery life is a very critical factor for such a product. It feels like they are trying to hide something
