Not the same TV.

The linked model is the 55s405 (2017 model), this refurbished model is the 55us57 (2016 model).

The 55s405 had HDR and three HDMI, while the 55us57 has NO HDR and four HDMI.

Here comes the wave or returns from the holidays when people bought them for about 300 bucks, now being sold as refurbs. Not bad price for a 55 incher, but with Walmarts refurb history you have about a 30% chance of receiving a TV in decent condition.

Model number in specifications at lower part of page shows a 2015 50 inch...

So hard to jump on these as TCL just showed off their new lineup at CES. Supposedly going to sell with similar prices as the previous models, but with improvements to picture.

Edit: this TV might 'support' HDR but it doesn't get bright enough to actually meet HDR10 standards.

This is the 2016 model, No HDR unfortunately. For that reason I'm gonna pass. This is still a great deal for anyone that wants a large 4k smart TV, I doubt a 4k hdr 55" will drop to 300 even over the next couple weeks.

No mention of HDR on this model. The 55S401 has HDR.

go to bestbuy website and read the reviews for this TV. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/tcl-55-class-54-6-diag--led-2160p-smart-4k-ultra-hd-tv-roku-tv/5878703.... [bestbuy.com]

The top review states,
"Awesome especially for the price
July 30, 2017
This is a really solid TV. My reason for the review is I don't know why this listing doesn't show it has HDR but it does, it supports HDR10.
I would recommend this to a friend

the second top review states, "
4. This TV DOES HAVE HDR10! "

this being said, it does support HDR10 according to this review.

I saw this when I was researching, but i wasn't sure if the reviews were of the exact TV or if some people thought they had this particular model, when in fact they didn't.

Can you confirm if there was in fact, an HDR software upgrade that came to this model?
