If you practice an instrument every day you know that this is much easier than waking your phone, entering a security code and fiddling with an app when you want to change the tempo

This is a very good tuner and metronome. I use mine pretty often and paid $25 for it. If you play a stringed instrument often, this is for you. If not, you can use your smartphone for the occasional tuning.

Had my original since 1998. Was and is still working but batteries rusted after the beer dump. These are invaluable for simple tuning and learning.

More interested in the metronome for live events. Anyone know if there are tempo presets you can jump to?

You mean easier than waking and unlocking using fingerprint or facial recognition then run an app?
That too, if you're into that kind of thing.
