Just bought mine. I wanted to go eco friendly, but it's just too costly to buy the silicone vacuum sealers. Thank you for this!

If you wanted to go name brand, Food Saver has a remanufactured FM2000 for the same price. I pulled the trigger on that today. Free shipping on it as well.

Ummm...maybe. One of the photos from the link shows that you need bags with lines in the material and folded edges in order to both vacuum and seal. No idea what brand bag that would specifically be. Run a question search, one of the reviews probably will mention what bags work.

Edit: Insomniac so nothing better to do. I ran a query on the Amazon page for brands of bags that will work with this . No hits. One of the questions was specific to which one to use and the answer came from the Distributor/ Manufacturer (obviously from Asia based on there command of English) "Bags with lines or folded edges" big help. Maybe a great sealer. After the 30 day return period good luck with warranty issues. Foodsaver brand sealers have a 5 year warranty (new ones, not the refurbs) At least my new FM-2100 model does and it was only $33 on Ratuken.com. that was a few months back so that is no longer the case, but just an example that you might want to wait on a name brand Sealer deal.

I have the FM-2100 model. The only difference between that and the linked FM-2000 is that the 2000 does not have internal roll storage with the cutter. Very convenient if you are going to use rolls for custom size bags. If you will be using the preformed quart / gallon size bags it's a non issue. Just FYI for anyone's looking at the Foodsaver line.

Edit : oops. The Foodsaver FM-2000 doesn't have the moist / dry food setting button either like the FM-2100 model.

Why is this getting so many thumbs up I wonder? Get the Food Saver one mentioned earlier, at the same/similar price seems like a no brainier rather than taking a chance in this.
