The discounted price does not appear on the audible page. Has the deal expired?

You have to buy the kindle book first, to get the discounted audible price.

One of Twain's best stories, though not as popular as the Tom Sawyer/Huckleberry Finn books. This my favorite as a kid and I recently listened to it on Audible (different narrator) and was blown away by the depth of it that I never caught as a kid. I went ahead and bought this version so I'll have it for my next relisten Smilie

Thanks. I got this and repped OP.

Does anyone know how to identify which audible version you'd get when you pick the "add audible narration"? For instance - if you just select the Audible edition for this book, it shows the narration by Stuart Langton and not the one specified. However, if you get this specific kindle edition and select the "add narration" you get the Nick Offerman narration.

It depends on how amazon links them. This kindle edition makes no sense because it's abridged and attached to an unabridged audible version.

tldr; Amazon is stupid, I don't know any more. Multiple Kindle editions seem to point to the same Audible listing (but don't specify which one), and multiple Audible listings apparently point back to a single kindle listing (as if buying that kindle edition would give you both Audible titles...). What does that mean? Its a total crap shoot as to what you'll get.

I bought via Amazon, ticked the "add audible" box, and received the Nick Offerman version. No mention of which version of the audio book from Amazon though.. I do know that the Offerman audio page on Audible had specific mention of the deal. So maybe start at audible and work backwards?

Edit: Amazon is such a mess. If you follow the trail starting from Audible (from the reviews), you'll find this version listed. Click back on the kindle version listed there and you get a completely different kindle version... which then links to a completely different audible version for $11.95. Frankly this speaks volumes to Amazon's inability to properly link titles, the fact that this is probably a huge fluke, and OPs ability to find the deal in the first place. I still note the reduced audible price, and related kindle title, was easiest to find from the Audible page itself.

Edit 2: Here's an example of what you're talking about with a different version (because you can't see the links once you've purchased. https://www.audible.com/pd/Classi...B017082Y08 Check out the "Get this Audiobook for the reduced price" link. A different version from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Connecticu...B0027FETDK lists yet another "deal" for $0.99 for the book + $0.99 for the audible version. I'm trying to find that... I guess I'm bored.

Penultimate Edit: No clue... Couldn't figure out that last one. I'm guessing multiple kindle titles link back to the same audible version. Probably this one: https://www.audible.com/pd/Classi...B003TU7KI8 which ends up being the cheapest deal at $0.99 for the kindle book (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004UJTZ30) and the audio. Its not Offerman though..

Final Edit: N/M all that. I don't know any more. Was looking for some more deals and saw these two listings for The Picture of Dorian Day: (https://www.audible.com/pd/Classi...B06XP38T7M) and (https://www.audible.com/pd/Classi...B002UZLN04), where both link back to the same Kindle title (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000FC1CUA). The Kindle title makes no mention of the reduced price... I hope Bezos keeps his Amazon.com developers far away from his Blue Origin team.

This link provides $0.99 Whispersync/Audible updates to Kindle "Classics." Most of the books appear to be free. https://www.amazon.com/gp/browse.html/ref=s9_acss_bw_cg_wfv_2c1_cta_w?node=6522096011&pf_rd_m=ATVPDK... [amazon.com]

A lot of the classics in Audible are a dollar or two if you buy the kindle ebook for .99. A couple notables I have found are

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer narrated by Nick Offerman
https://www.amazon.com/The-Advent...P1Z73C0GY8

Adventures of Huckleberry Finn: A Signature Performance by Elijah Wood
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

One more good find. Dracula. A full cast recording Starring Alan Cumming, Tim Curry, Simon Vance and others. This link is for the audible. I can't get a link to the kindle whispersync now that I have purchased it and I do have an active audible subscription. When I try logging out to find the link it is not there so it might only be available to members. It was only 2 or 3 dollars to buy the kindle and add audible in the same purchase. Good luck everybody!

*Edit
My copy of Dracula shows the full cast but when I listen to it I think it is just Alan Cumming. I may have to check with audible about that.

Huck Finn is narrated by Alan Munroe unless you specifically buy the Wood version afaik. I can't see the Offerman Twain because I already own it Smilie
