What's the consensus? Is the site reputable and are refurb versions of this model generally just as good?

Just a heads up, I Bought a 2-pack of these around thanksgiving for $45 brand new (22.5/switch). They work well though no dimmer feature but no regrets...i love them!

I just installed one of these the other day (not a refurb, and not purchased from Daily Sale). While it works fine with both Alexa and the Kasa app (and as a "normal" switch, of course), and the circular white light (when the switch is off) is a nice touch, certain aspects of its physical design leave something to be desired.

It's obviously designed to be used in a single-gang box with its included snap-on wall plate. I installed it in a multi-gang box with another wall switch, and while it works with a standard Decora-type wall plate, the switch sits further back inside the opening than I would like. You also can't use spacers to push it forward due to the inflexible plastic mounting brackets, which are thicker than the usual metal brackets and push a standard wall plate out from the wall. I actually had to shave the drywall behind the plastic brackets back a bit in order to get the standard wall plate to sit flush.

Ultimately, I can live with it, even if I'm not thrilled with how it looks on the wall. I already have a bunch of other TP-Link/Kasa smart stuff, so being able to control everything in a single app is the main selling point for me.

Just ordered two, we'll see how they are. Used Promo Code SD10OFF50 to get $10 of $50 so I ended up only paying $40 for two of them.

Promo Code EXCLUSIVEOFFER10 also works to get 10% off an order if you want just one.

Yeah I am curious about the same thing. I bought a new one and love it, but wanted to see what others thought of this deal and site?

I installed mine in a double gang and didn't have it sit too far back. It could be the style of gang box? The only issue I had was I needed to buy a new wallcover since I had a standard switch and this new single pole switch.

Might order a couple of these this evening. I just ordered some Leviton wifi switches (one dimmer, one non) to go in a 3-gang box in my master bedroom. Trying to go all wifi to avoid the z-wave hub.

I've become a pretty huge fan of TP-Link's smart home products. I've got 4 of their HS-200 switches and a half dozen of their smart plugs. They work great, even motivated me to ghetto rig an old tablet by the front door to control everything.

I do agree with the previous poster about how they sit in multi-gang boxes. They're not much bigger than a typical dimmer but being made out of plastic they sit kind of "wonky" in the box. They're a little bit crooked and slightly more recessed than my other switches. I guess I can live with that.

Make damn sure you do a good job of twisting your wires and your wire nuts. You're going to compress the hell out of those wires when you force it all back into the box. One of my HS-200s fit so tightly into one of my 3-gang boxes that it would cease to function (short out, turn off, whatever) until I gave it a tiny bit more room by loosening the screws a couple turns.

I sure wish they would hurry up and release a 3-way product and a dimmer. I don't want to have to mix multiple vendors when I'm already happy with the one I'm using.

I can also vouch for these switches. Bought 2 of them during the Thanksgiving sale and they've worked well. Note that they don't work natively with SmartThings but there is a device handler available, coupled with TP-Link's cloud service that makes it all work: https://community.smartthings.com...c_id=70538 . In for 2 more.

Don't use wire nuts, use Wago level lock connectors. The 221 series are very compact.

Looks like SD10OFF50 isn't working. At least not for me. Did it expire?
