Google Home Mini vs Amazon Echo Dot

Just wondering what your thoughts are on these two extremely popular devices. I've decided to keep and use them both. Reviews have pretty much covered the differences between them and I'm sure there's extreme fanboys of each. Any super cool things these can do that I haven't read or thought about yet????? So far I'm using the Dot to handle most of my music duties, the Mini for Knowledge and they both control my lights.

That's pretty consistent with many users I've engaged with. They have both, and use both for specific areas of functionality. Alexa-enabled devices depend on how deeply invested you are in Amazon's products, like entertainment, while the Google Home is more of a functional device and home technology hub. I really love the IFTT integration with GH also.

Well while Amazon is no saint in the area of privacy (to say the least), Google is the poster boy for spyware and marketing data collection. Their main search engine gathers info on you, their browser is an enormous piece of spyware, etc. Giving Google the ability to record everything that happens in your home is like giving all your personal info to cyber criminals imo lol. I would not go anywhere near them. Heaven knows what Amazon is up to with Alexa, but you know with Google they have absolutely no regard for privacy and will spy on you 24x7 and gather every piece of data they can imo.
