Any comments on the quality? The branding on the handles looks rather garish

Since I just purchased them today, I can't comment on the quality or the handles. But the reviews all seemed pretty solid saying they felt good and were very durable which interested me. I have been waiting for this set to drop in price, but didn't think it I would ever be dropped by more than 50%! Smilie Everything I have ever bought that is Calphalon, has been extremely durable and long lasting.

We got these free with a tri-ply set a couple years ago. They're pretty good quality, and have stood up to use pretty well. Also good for protecting your cookware. They're rigid and my wife prefers the core utensils that are flexible and brightly colored. Worth mentioning you can get twice as many core utensils for about 5 bucks more.

I got these as part of a set a couple years ago too. They melt kind of easily if you leave them leaning on the pot while cooking, my girlfriend did this with one of them. They have held up pretty well other than that, however, and do a good job

Wait a sec. This is a different brand and as per the one review, they're "garbage". There's plenty of big kitchen utensil sets on Amazon for the same price...

Honest question, but why buy plastic and risk them melting compared to silicone? Is it for the rigidity?

I had a set and the tools themselves do get dinged and scratched over time. The tips of them eventually get dented in from frequent use. I end up throwing them away after 6 months of use.

Not really a deal. this stuff is usually $2-3 a piece at HomeGoods or tjmaxx type of places.

Also, may want to consider silicon spatulas. The nylon melts either while cooking or in the dishwasher
