STRONGLY recommend you avoid any Newegg Rebate deals

This company, already shady, has really gone off the rails with falsely denying rebates lately. I would STRONGLY suggest you avoid and rebate deals with them unless you enjoy hassles. Actually, I recommend avoiding the thieves altogether, as their customer service is pathetic, but that's another story. Had a bunch of the FAR deals during the holidays. I'd say they denied most of them, and without notice. When you first make the purchase, there's a receipt in your account for the order. If you submit a copy of that, and not the invoice they create later, they deny you. No notice. I've also had ones denied claiming there was no UPC. There was, and I even sent them a photocopy of exactly what was sent. I've sent it them on FB, Twitter, Email, and they are still denying it. Had to dispute with my CC company. They're sleazebags, and not worth your time or money.

I am doing rebates with them since 3 years now. Since Tigerdirect's days. All the rebates that got denied for me were because I missed something. Quick thing. Some rebates requires the UPC and serial number cut also. That's most of the mistakI did.

Only the Asus ones require serial numbers

I've submitted 27 rebates since October, and all but 2 (still processing) of them have been approved.

I submitted 62 Newegg rebates so far in 2017/18....all were approved except for two submitted 3 weeks ago that showed documents not yet received and one I just submitted today. I had to chase the two older ones but no luck so far. It appears Newegg's rebate processor, 4myrebate, is overwhelmed this season with the insane amount of rebate deals. I am disappointed in their super slow service but I think my remaining claims will be approved eventually. If you submitted the wrong invoice, you are given a second chance to send them the right one. Once they have the proper invoice, they will reverse the denial. I had that happen once years ago when I was a rebate noob laugh out loud

Edit: I edited my last post and it became a new post for some reason. Apologies!

Yeah this happened to me, too. They did email me telling me when they received the paperwork. I'm assuming I got notices because I registered the rebates immediately after purchase. They emailed again a short time later with a reason for being declined(no invoice, same as yours), as well as spotty and incomplete instructions for resubmitting. I've complied, so it will be supremely annoying if declined again. I hope it's not just a giant waste of stamps and time.

So you admit right in your post that you DID NOT FOLLOW the instructions for the rebate, and you then blame Newegg/4MyRebate for denying you, calling them "theives" and "sleasebags".

I am at a loss for words. Applause

Did you seriously copy and paste your rants to 6 different Newegg deals? There is nothing pathetic or sleazy about what happened except your reaction. You screwed up plain and simple. Strongly avoid? How about strongly pay attention next time?

My problem with the whole thing is that Newegg didn't used to email invoices. Nothing on their site for you to print said "invoice." And they approved rebates as recently as mid October 2017 with the "order details" page in place as the invoice. So they didn't change their wording but did change their procedure. That's questionable behavior and has wasted a lot of people's time, however loyal you are to Newegg.

At least part of what your saying is wrong. Each order on Newegg clearly has an invoice which you can click on and print. Also, the rebates are handled by 4myrebate. The procedures and wording are set up by them, as far as I know. I also clearly remember at least some, perhaps not all, rebates having the wording to the effect that Invoice or packing slip was required..and they would NOT accept order details. Also, in practically every Newegg rebate thread I have seen someone mentions this stuff. Yes, Its easy to forget to sign and date the rebate form, or some other detail. Yes its probably more confusing then it needs to be, but you are getting something for free in the end....so I really think all the complaining and crying is ludicrous. If proper attention to detail is employed, you will not have a problem. I have done 100 Newegg rebates....only one was ever denied, and that was my own fault for forgetting to sign the form...and they put it through anyway after I contacted CS.

So typical of our modern culture. Blame, blame, blame. Complain, complain, complain. But don't take any time to read the instructions or follow procedures. Just expect someone else to give you what you are entitled to, dammit! If this OP had taken the ten minutes he spent cross-posting his baseless rant , he wouldn't have had a problem in the first place.

Not right away.

Whatever.

At least part of what your saying is wrong. It's the order confirmation email that's explicitly unacceptable. Which makes the emailed invoice that much weirder.

That's funny because it was a newegg rebate thread where I saw someone mention the order details being what they were after. And I've been having rebates approved with a copy of the order details, up until recently. WTF is the difference between an invoice and the order details, anyway. I mean really.

Yeah well that's not the reason for our denials.

Yeah, well, that's just like your opinion, man.

Newegg has been e-mailing invoices for quite a long time, at least since 2015. I have never used their e-mailed invoices for rebate purposes though.

I log in to my Newegg Account Center, click on Order History, then the appropriate Order/ Invoice #, and hit the Print.

It specifically says the following at the top:

INVOICE DETAILS
Sold and Shipped by Newegg
Order #: XXXX
Invoice #: YYYY

The rebate processing center is only concerned that it is not an Order Confirmation because that does not indicate shipment. An invoice is only generated once an item is shipped and charged.

You're right, I have the emailed invoice for the PC I built in 2011. However, there are gaps. They don't always send an invoice.

And I'm wrong about the order details, at least I think I am. I don't have anything but my very latest from october. However, looking at the picture of the paperwork I sent for that one, it appears I did send an "invoice details" rather than order details like I'd thought. I want to say earlier rebates were approved with order details, but I can't say for sure, now.

It's easy to see how it's confusing, because not only do they look similar, one can go through pretty much the exact motions to get one or the other. The variable being the time waited after placing an order. You'd think the order details would be acceptable as long as the UPC and serial was in the envelope. They wouldn't ship that if it wasn't charged.

I've registered for several MIRs as well, and I haven't seen any of them denied so far.
And just yesterday, I've received two of my MIR cards that I bought back on Nov 7, 2017. (attached pic is its Claim Status History, just for reference of dates & such)

I'm sorry to hear about them claiming there wasn't a UPC submitted though...
