Fantastic deal on a 55 inch TV. I dont mind the lack of 'smartness' since I, like most people, own a roku device and a chromecast.

$50 less than I brought years ago. Good monitor connect a htpc for steaming or video watching.

Totally agree. I'm in the market as well for a TV and really looking for not the smart ones, which is getting really hard to find these days.
This is a good price for a 4k tv, but I assume it's not HDR.

Im not to picky for a bargain tv. Ips panel makes this a pretty decent experience. I have the 65 inch version with a shield tv. For the price I love mine, but it doesnt support 240p. I bought a hd retrovision cable for my genesis, and I get no picture. Still love it

You don't buy a $300 55 inch tv and complain about black levels and colors...

OK, here's another question from someone who's not up on 4k specs:

How would this fare for use as a 1080p PC monitor until I get more 4k sources? I don't do first person shooters or league Starcraft play, just games that are mostly lag tolerant and streaming 1080p video. But my Roku won't do 4k, and I'm 99.9% sure my PC can't output 4k, so I don't need the 4k yet. I'm aware TVs are usually not good for monitor use, but I've been using a $200 refurbed Sansui 55' 1080p hooked up to my living room PC for months now, so I'm curious if this would be closer to a monitor than a typical 1080p TV, for use at 1080p resolution.

this is still a TV, not a monitor... so if your sansui is working well and you have no qualms about it you wont notice any serious improvement IMO. these deals come around every month or so
