Are Sony's still so obnoxiously sloooooow and buggy? I just got rid of mine (barely 2 years old) because it drove me crazy...

Yes. The updates take a ridiculously long time. I've owned a couple 4k Sony sets, and both sometimes took 20-30 minutes for an update (I have a 250mbps connection). My Samsung KS8000 would update within 5-10 seconds.

For anyone wondering, this is a poor TV for gaming, as the colors looks really washed out. Mario Odyssey and Halo 5 looked horrible on the 75'' model at the appropriate distance compared to my KS8000. HDR is also worthless on this set since it doesn't get bright enough. I've heard that the 900e is a great set, though. Even still, it might be worth waiting for 2018 sets in case they have hdmi 2.1 which potentially could allow for 120fps gaming, which would be great for PC gamers.

Really?

Rtings rated this really high for gaming. Slightly less than the KS8000. But KS8000 got worse rating for using as PC monitor.

Yes, the X900E is painful to use.

That's the wrong link buddy. That's the MU8000 not the KS8000 - totally different TV.

Here is the correct link comparing the two - https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/c...00/423/291

Yes Sony OS just sucks. It feels like they got stuck at the 2000s. Far inferior to LG and Samsung's OS. They also cripple their hdmi ports.

The input lag didn't bother me, but the washed out colors for games such as Mario Odyssey and Halo 5 detracted from the experience. It looked significantly worse than the ks8000.

I bought one a week before Thanksgiving at that price. I must have seen the ad for 3-4 more times after that. Just pay attention to Frys email ads. They should have it from time to time. $1500 Fry's pay sale tax. So it is like $1350 + tax, IMO 65x900e should have been like this price. Anything higher, I don't think it is worth.
