From the website (emphasis mine): "The 90% offer is applicable for the first year only. CrashPlan account verification required."

The website says $6.95 for the first year of 2TB not 5TB unless they have another deal running not in their front page. Their normal yearly rates are $70 and $100 for 2TB and 5TB.

Not to be confused with Apple's own iCloud storage.

Just confirming that, after signing up, I was asked to provide verification of my existing CrashPlan account in the form of an email from CrashPlan or an account screenshot.

Just to add: I switched from CrashPlan to iDrive when CP said they were moving to business-based accounts only and raised the price to an ungodly amount, compared to what I was paying. Been using them concurrently, for comparison. I have to say, CP have been having problems with W10, while iDrive seems to be working well. I also like the fact that I can have multiple computers backing up to one account (couldn't do that with CP). They also provided a seed drive to start. All in all, I'm satisfied.

Wish if iDrive offered lifetime deal! 1 year is not much, I don't say the deal is bad, in fact it really is a great deal. but we're not sure how much hassles we have to handle if the price rise beyond our capacity at the end of the year.

Updated

iDrive received my express drive with 4TB data and have failed to load it after 6 weeks and multiple emails requesting them to get them to act or tell me what is going on.

After several of these messages over the last 3 weeks: "Your request for support has been received and assigned ticket #IDxxxxxxxx. A representative will follow-up with you as soon as possible." But no, now, they are not responding to emails at all. Seems they can't figure it out so they are ignoring.

Update: They sent an email "express drive order cancelled - drive appears defective". After several more emails they are sending me another drive. Okay, this is good. Back on track, or at least, starting over.
