Got the email and was looking at the 5pk of Pro's but Newegg now charges tax in PA and Jersey. Kills the deal for me.

Comes out to $105 a piece which doesn't really help if I want to keep two and resell three.

thumbed up because it's a good deal, however -

this is a useless product for 90% of applications.
you're far better off with two units and low transmit power, rather than trying to crank up the gain to use one AP for the entire floor.

Is this better than the Ubiquiti AP Lite version?

You're not wrong with your last statement, but I disagree that it's "useless for 90% of applications". It's a good compromise between the AC-LITE and AC-PRO.

I thought the point of the LR was the antennas were larger, and not that they put more power through it.
As such, the antennas are good at receiving, and the remote device does not have to be 'better'.

Also I'm pretty sure the 5pk does not include the Poe injectors like the singles, so it would make selling off a single less valuable to most people who buy a single anyway.

Any thoughts on the AC-IW. I am sure it doesn't have the range, but for my application the installation will be cleaner and I am pretty sure will still resolve my coverage issue. I am planning to backhaul this to a Linksys Nighthawk that is in the back basement corner of the house.

Anyone have any experience with the in wall units? Was gonna get 2 uap-ac-lites but thinking the IW might just make for a cleaner install. Also can they be powered by passive PoE?
