I am glad someone else also thought its a good dealSmilie
Bought DW5600E-1 last month from Target deal and really like it, even better than GW500A and few other Casio that I have. Thought it would be nice to have that watch with atomic/solar features. That could be GW5610-1, but its price hovers around $100. Surprised to see this model selling for $65 but with no manufacturer warranty. I have never needed any warranty on Casio. If its running, it will keep running. My first Casio is a sub-$10, solar watch. Its still running fine, no issues after 5-6 years.
GWX watch is probably more expensive than GW5610-1, but the color is hit or miss, if one likes it then its a good watch for an excellent price.

Looks pretty cool.

My hesitation is the negative display. Some like it, some don't. I had a different model with the neg display and returned it. I would recommend checking it out first at Target or Kohls, etc.

I got the watch today. Everything tested seems to be in order. The color of watch is good but I personally prefer dashing black color of DW5600E.
Display is bad. I use dark theme on my laptop, but this display is pretty dim and is unusable in dimmer light. Luckily its solar so illumination can be used without thinking about battery life. I am going to keep it, but its not going to be my every day watch, once in while on sunny day... You have to really see the time to check the time Smilie The white digits on grey or black background would have been fine but in order to match the watch color they have made the digits as yellowish, which has made the digits even dimmer.

I would advise against buying this watch, unless you are ready to deal with a very dim display. I will keep it under the sunlight to fully charge it and see if there is any difference in display, but I doubt it. In the meantime I will keep an eye on GWM5610 or like prices.

After wearing the watch for couple of days, the display doesn't seem all that bad. My eyes are getting used to it. Its most likely a grey market item (though new). Things that I have checked and are working,

atomic time keeping (syncs every night), its not loosing much time if not synced (fraction of a second)
solar
tide
moon phase
auto-illumination
So it can't be a fake! can it? Never heard of a fake watch with atomic time keeping!

Maybe it's not solar, maybe it's just running off a battery!
Maybe it's not using atomic time, maybe it's faked in the firmware to look like it is!
I'm just saying...!

Its syncing and currently its a just fraction of second faster (has not synced it for 2 days, I have to keep all my watches at on the window to sync). I have checked many functionalities and seems authentic, no doubt in my mind. Am pretty happy with the purchase.

If some company try to fake a watch, it can't get all the functionalities into it. Even if they did, given the number of watches they are going to manufacture, their cost would be a lot higher than what it would cost to Casio.

I don't think they are fake but I was just answering your question that it is possible. Many watch movements are cloned and on eBay entire watches sell for less than $20. You would be surprised what someone (Chinese?) can do for such little money but as you implied it is probably not really feasible in this instance.

You are right, however improbable it is, its still a possibility. Finally, bought my 9th Casio watch (GWM5610) from ebay for $80 (with 20% ebay discount). I am absolutely not going to buy any more watches.

That's a nice one, the Casio 5600 series is one of their best. I have been wanting a radio controlled watch (with solar) for quite a while. I want an analog-digital model and have been looking at Casio and Citizen. Hopefully I can talk myself out of it!

I have couple of digital analog from Casio, AWG-M100-1 & GW1500A-2, I equally like them. Though I can not justify myself paying for over $100 for a watch, but I felt Citizen watches have some kind of aura (or beauty!) about them, which is missing in Casio watches. This could be my personal bias as I wore many Citizen watches. If you can justify paying $200-300, I would suggest you to go for analog solar atomic Citizen watch. I am 100% certain that I am not buying anymore watches, same can't be said of you Smilie Try delaying the inevitable.
