Considering the original Mac 512K was $2795 back in 1984 dollars, I'd say this is a deal.

Nice, should I buy this, or pay 2+ months of mortgage.

$5K after tax is an insane price for a computer.

Lol, what about the specs? According to PC Gamer, the equivalent custom PC build would cost $4686. The 5K display alone would cost $1300.

If this pricetag is shocking, it's not meant for you!

Well, power wise a much better PC could be built for far less. I will concede that the display is second to none and very cutting edge.

This definitely isnt a computer for everyone though.

Considering there are a million alternatives to this compared to back then when options were limited, I'd say this blows

I'm just amazed that people who have no interest in buying or think the deal is terrible even click on the thread...This is 10% off a brand new recent released Apple product that is specifically designed for people that need it. If you don't then it's not a good deal. If you do then why not save $500? Goodness. Just was trying to help someone who might be interested. If you are not needing this then I agree go the YMMV Walmart route and get the HP as it's a much better slickdeal.

The haters are people who don't enjoy a company that gets away with ripping people off. You can build a pc that can outperform this easily for this price. Video game card... please

Some people make enough to afford both, or use this in order to afford both.
