I got the 6 quart one and I have cooked many meals. I never thought I'd cook but I'm hooked.

Chili. Stews. Steamed veggies. Baked potatoes. Hard/soft boiled eggs. Beef stroganoff. Pot roast (best meal yet). Cheesecake. Banana bread. Chicken adobo. Pulled pork. And on and on and on. A bit of a learning curve, and everyone has a few failures, but this is a great gadget.

General census seems to be that a 6qt is better, especially if it's your first. There's not a huge price difference between the sizes when on good sales. Though on my 6qt, I rarely fill it up. I plan on getting the 3qt at some point for my smaller meals, or for making sides/rice.

We have both sizes and we tend to use the 3qt more often for a family of 4. We cook rice or stew or slow cooking meats etc.

So long as you're not cooking anything extremely large, yes. I have the 6qt and it's generally far larger than needed for one or two people, mostly restrictive of meat size.

Perfect size for 1-2 people. Stick to the 3qt, don't get the 6qt which would be way too big unless you're trying to cook with lots of left overs

I like to meal prep for the week when I cook. Could probably still do it with the 3qt if you're just cooking for yourself. The 6qt is perfect for my wife and my weekly meals.
Also if you can think of multiple occasions where you might need a 6qt (hosting dinners, etc.) Then maybe go for the 6qt? You can always fill the 6qt halfway but you can't fill the 3qt past it's maximum...
