Well, I normally would have posted this yesterday but i needed to make sure i got my order in for my two because my Fry's sucks at having quantity, This will be live on Sunday the 14th with your promo code, and IN STORE ONLY.
Edit: Some people have posted that it is possible to get this shipped with the promo code. I was able to do myself at 1/15/08 for a unit. Seems to come and go.

Promo code good for this all week long. So, if your store sells out before the sale even starts (yeah, DG, I am looking at you!) keep checking back.

Also, for those that like to tweak their systems to their best potential, I highly recommend the extra Audyssey app that is available from the app store or from google play. It made a HUGE difference in my system being able to adjust parameters.

Now, if our good friend Turnne would make an appearance, this thread will be complete!

Just got my refurb X3300W a couple of days ago for $500. Of course this comes along...lol. I assume it's in-store only like usual. Closest Fry's to me is 3.5 hours away.

Great deal for those that can get it though.

great receiver for a great price, but if you wanna do 4 channel atmos (5.2.4 or 5.1.4) you'll need to step up to the x4400h

receivers that can do 9.2 (for 4 atmos) channels and have (or will have with firmware update) full 4k/hdr/dolby vision support

yamaha a2060 (prev year), a3060 (prev year), a2070, a3070
denon x4300 (prev year, best value/deal IMO), x6300 (prev year), x4400, x6400
marantz sr6011 (prev year), sr7011 (prev year), sr6012, sr7012
pioneer lx801, lx901

won't mention onkyo due to all their continuous problems

IMO go with yamaha or denon/marantz. none of the pioneer models offer individual crossover frequency settings (so, for example, you have to say every single speaker crosses over to the subwoofer at 80z, or 60hz, or 100hz, etc). whereas with yamaha/denon you can, which is very helpful for atmos setups because you wanna cross over your atmos modules/speakers at 120hz or 150hz and you most likely want your L/R/C/surrounds at 60 or 80, depending on your speakers

i think more people would agree denon/marantz audyssey xt32 is better than yamaha's YPAO for auto speaker setup/config/calibration but you'll find advocates for both

TLDR: if you want 4 channel atmos wait for a good deal on a x4400h (looks like frys has it for 900 occasionally) or get a used/refurb x4300h

PS: when you're setting up, dialing in, or demoing atmos for someone you can download the dolby atmos "helicoptor" demo for free and listen in amazement as a helicopter flies above and around you in circles

How is it possible to place an order at this price before the 14th? Did Fry's already send out an email with a promo code? Thanks

Isn't this usually $399 with promo every other week?

So you order it now at full price and just know that when collecting on Sunday that the Promo Code will have arrived and that it'll generate the discount at the register?

It's been the x2400h, one step below this model

Incredible timing! I literally NEED a new AVR and this one was on the top of my list. I had a Denon AVR-2312CI that just died a few days ago, but I'm totally willing to give Denon another shot. My issue (protect mode) is pretty rare and Denon has provided me awesome customer service in the past.

How does this work with Fry's? I see shipping is available, but I'm assuming I can only try to do that on Sunday... and chances of getting that in are slim? If I order it today, I don't have a promo code to put in... but if I choose to drive 120-150 miles (each way) to my nearest Fry's, do I just show them the daily promo code in my email and they refund me the difference?

Picked this up over thanksgiving for the same price. Excellent receiver. Not a fan of Heos, but the rest is great for my 5.1.2 atmos setup.

The best atmos demo is the first 10 minutes of mad max fury road. The voices all over the place is better than any demo atmos provides.

Better room calibration software with independent sub control and pre amp outs are the main things.

I would, but that's because I like using external amplifiers. It offers pre-outs, higher output, and Audyssey XT32 over Audyssey XT. Overall, it's a much better receiver at a fairly small price increase.

Could you point me somewhere about using external amps. What ones to use and why to use external amps
