in for 1.

Some people were saying they didn't get the free shipping option while others did. I got the free shipping.

Rebates also came up. I have done over 20 Newegg rebates since November. Everyone I have submitted has been approved. It takes a while to get the actual rebate card.

For this purchase, I paid with a Newegg rebate card.

If you follow the directions and keep good records there is no reason you shouldn't be approved.

In previous threads discussing rebates I quickly went through my process. Others may have their own method which works well for them.

My personal rebate process is to use Evernote. I have an Evernote stack labeled "Shopping." Within it I have one notebook labeled - "Rebates inprocess" and a second notebook labeled "Rebates Received."

For a new rebate like today, I fill out the form online and print it out. Then I cut out the address from the rebate and tape it onto an envelope which is pre-stamped and has the return label. Then I paperclip the rebate form and envelope together and put it into a file.

For Evernote, I create a new note within the "Rebates inprocess" notebook. The subject line is the amount of rebate - the name of rebate and if it was received yet. So for this one, my subject line is $14.99 - Deepcool Laptop Cooling Pad - Not Received Yet.

Inside the body of the note, I put in the rebate tracking number which you get from the Newegg rebate.

After the product arrives I cut out the UPC and staple to the rebate form, print out the invoice from Newegg and fill out the rebate form with my signature, date and add the required check marks. Now I staple the rebate form and invoice together.

Next, I scan the rebate form and invoice and save to my computer as a pdf. My default folder is Downloads so all the pdfs are in there. Then I open up Evernote, locate the note with the corresponding rebate and drag the pdf to inside the body of the note. For the subject line, I change the text which said "Not Received Yet" and change it to "Rebate Mailed on (date)."

Then I mail out the rebate.

When I get the rebate card I drag the note from the "Rebates inprocess" notebook to the "Rebates Received" notebook.

This process is pretty fast once you get the hang of it and takes max 5 minutes per rebate.
