Go easy on me, this is my first time posting a deal. :-D

Amazon now has the factory refurbished Brother MFC-L2740DW wireless laser all-in-one for $139.36. I paid about $30 more when I got this all-in-one from Amazon back on 12/27/18. I tried to get a price adjustment from Amazon tonight but got shot down by both chat reps I chatted with. I also entered a Citi Price Rewiind request but I think it will get shot down too since the Citi Price Rewiind program excludes refurbished items (worth a shot I guess).

Staples also has this for $149.99. You might luck out and get a price match for a price for a little lower than Amazon's price.

My refurbished MFC-L2740DW came in a factory box that says "Factory Refurbished" and was packaged like a brand new unit complete with all the styrofoam, poly bagging, shipping tape, sealed OEM starter toner cartridge (good for around 700 pages) and a lifetime page count of about 185 pages (I forget the exact number) when I unboxed it.

About four years ago I got a Brother factory refurbished HL-2270DW from Staples that also came in a factory box that said "Factory Refurbished" for around $60 and sold it on Craigslist this week for $45 along with a Linkyo TN450 cartridge I got but never had to use because my HL-2270DW was still running off of the toner cartridge it shipped with (I also still had the original paperwork and software CD it shipped with).
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

A heads up. A lot of "all-in-one" cable modem/wifi device has the tendency of dropping the wifi on Brother's printers.

The fixes are:

1) Reboot printer and wait a minute for it get a new IP address.

2) Keep it connected to the router with a LAN cable.

3) Ditch the all-in-one device that you got from your cable ISP and get a proper modem and wireless router.

Regarding the printer quality, it is what you expect from Brother. Quality built, easy to configure, and generic toner friendly (no silly chips to install).

For those who prefer to refill toners. Keep in mind about the starter toner is a bit special. Even if you install the missing gears to convert the starter toner to a standard toner, it will always be registered as a standard toner.

Meaning when you fill the toner (usually Brother's refills are good for the extended capacity toner), the printer will tell you the toner is out when there is 50% left of toner left.

It's not overall a big deal, as long as you just go back in and reset the gears on the toner.

Full duplex scan/copy/print, great printer BTW grabbed one on BF from staples for the cheapest price ever(refurb). I updated the firmware shortly after as it seemed to have issue printing a pending doc/forgetting my wifi when it was turned on(leave mine off), works great now.

This seems to be $149 on staples since then a few times for the refurb, decent price if you can stack with something

A fix I got for wifi to stop losing connection was to give it a static IP.

I remember buying this on amazon about a year ago for less new. The first one was defective (wouldn't read the toner) the second one worked fine. I don't like that these newer brother printers stop printing before the toner is actually out and if the toner is out, none of the other features work. You can't scan or fax if your toner is out (not that I'd ever fax someone, I got internet about 20 years ago.) still though, I think brother makes one of the best price/performance printers. I'm a teacher and I've already printed a good 30,000 pages on this one and other than having to buy a a new drum it's still going strong. Decent deal, not great IMHO.

Pretty sure that wasnt this model, cheapest ever on amazon new is $140 back in 2014

The 2720/2700/2540/2380 have been less, none of whitch have duplex copy/scan

To fix the printer stopping before toner is empty there is a setting you can turn off that will let it continue to print until toner is out
