Grabbed one, thanks OP. Reviews look good and I've been looking for a deal on a set to use when I'm at home.

You've been on SD for 8 years with only 27 posts - and you just made spill my morning coffee laughing after I scrolled up to see what you mean. Gave you some reps (your first, apparently). TY for the early morning laugh

You can get these kind of cheap kits all the time at this price and lower... Search eBay, they have similar ones for less than $13 (that includes other accessories), Alibaba has them cheaper, and even searching Amazon they have others with more reviews and more accessories for just a buck more. All of these are just disposable junk kits, not much difference between brands, and this isn't a big sale or slick price, just everyday price all over the net.

I got the ELEGANT brand on Amazon (one that looks just like this) and it worked well on the Cat6 Drops at my friends house.

Is this only for Ethernet and plugging a line into the device, or will it work to find breaks in buried lines? Looking to find breaks in an electric dog fence.

I used to be a manager for Radio Shack. We had people coming in all the time to fix third electric dog fence. They always bought a rf choke and an AM radio. Google rf choke dog fence and you should find some tutorials to help you. The problem now would be finding a radio shack still open

Yeah, these aren't great, but as far as I know there's no happy medium in terms of cost. You either pay a lot to get a good, pro unit or fifteen bucks for magnetic junk. Can you recommend anything that is reasonably priced but works better?
