Unless you are on DOCSIS 3.1 1Gbps tier, a 16x4 modem will do just fine and anything more than that does not provide any tangible benefits. Comcast uses only 4 upstream channels.

Avoid Intel Puma chipset!!! [approvedmodems.com]

Just a heads up! Just returned mine because: if you are not on gig speed tier on comcast than you lose over provision with this modem due to a problem on comcast end firmware. You always get overprovision %20 than your speed tier like if you are on 100 down and 10 up you get 120 up and 12 down but with this modem you get your 100 down 10 up so practically slows you down for %20. But arris and comcast is aware of the issue at least 6 months and still no update. You can read more on dslteports or comcast forums. If i were you i would wait a little longer until they get their firmware fixed. But if you have gigabit tier speed and than this is a great price go for it!

For noobs:
Its DOCSIS 3.1 which is latest standard
32x8 channel bonding
Its modem and NO ROUTER. so need a separate router.

Would using this modem vs my existing SB6141 show any latency or other improvements? Spectrum caps my speeds at 100Mbps/10Mbps down/up, which is already achievable by the SB6141.

contact your cable company first and make sure they are on docsis 3.1 - mine is still on docsis 3.0 and no ETA of 3.1 deployment yet.

As said above unless you are 3.1 area and have a gig this modem is not what you want. The firmware is horrible and none of the providers are really moving fast on a fix.

I don't have this modem. But I do have Motorola MD8600 Docsis 3.1 and I do get over provisioning on Comcast. I have 60/5 and I get 72/6 speeds.

I don't know why this modem won't get Over provisioning.

These will be half price next year, no need to spend that much unless you need 3.1

Motorola MD8600 works fine and gets the extra speed. The problem is with arris sb8200 and comcast. For at least 6 months both parties aware of the issue and do nothing. Spent like 6 hours from one tech to another and finally they admitted the problem. If you don't have gig speed tier on comcast just stay away. Get motorola or belkin.

So basically what you're saying is you only get the speed you're paying for and nothing extra free?

Yes. Correct. If your line is good than with this you get what you pay for but not the extra %20 over provision.
