So I was at Goodwill today, and spied a baggie full of GBA games, for only $3. I noticed two copies of Pokemon Emerald, so I grabbed it. Well, I didn't even know that counterfeit GBA games were a thing, but here I am with "replica" copies of:

2x Pokemon Emerald
1x Final Fantasy IV
1x Final Fantasy VI
1x Golden Sun

I don't feel comfortable reselling them, but I don't know what the heck else to do with them. I don't even have anything to play them on, lol. Anyone want them?

I'd love to see a picture.

It's likely way too late for them to care, but NOA might actually be interested. Usually, companies appreciate if you send them their counterfeit products as it might help them track down the bootleggers.

Most recent reason why everyone should be armed at all times:
Santa Fe, TX school shooting. 10 killed 10 wounded.
This was a gun free zone. The shooter didn't care. Gun free zones only hurt honest citizens. If someone was armed there could've been 1 less death.

Just play em or throw em away, selling them would actually be illegal even if you legitimately bought them as you know they are counterfeit.

I wonder if they still work, evidently they depend on batteries to hold the ROM. Maybe of interest to collectors?

They are bootleg games that are made in china and are illegal to sell so there really isn't a collectors market.

They arent illegal to buy however, but their very nature means no one collects them.

I'm 100% sure there are people that would like these in their collection as curiosities.

I didn't use a spoiler tag because you just seam to take them for granite. But don't worry old chap, I'm hear to help you. For all intensive purposes, your probably relying on spell check a bit to much. But who knows, maybe this post is a blessing in the skies for other people who make similar mistakes, or maybe it's just a mute point and all for not.

Thanks all, I don't feel like putting them on eBay because it probably violates TOS.

I don't even have a GBA, and as such had no idea they were even able to replicate cartridges, so I assumed they were real and resellable.. oh well.

@bonkman I can post a picture later if you're still interested.

It's being weird about me posting multiple pics, hold on..

You can tell the Pokemon cartridges are slightly different colors. Also, the Final Fantasy ones look pretty amateur, but having had nothing to compare against, I was like, "Man, this is how Nintendo ships products? Yikes." laugh out loud

I used to work at GS corporate and there are telltale signs, one is the coloring of the cases is usually off, they often don't have the ESRB rating and the stickers aren't good quality either. They also often don't even have the correct game on them as well.

Heh, woulda fooled me. After looking at them for a few seconds, I can see weirdness -- no seal of quality/Nintendo on FF advance, weird ESRB on left pokemon + janky seal, bad Nintendo logo on GS -- but I probably wouldn't have noticed in the moment. I think either the R pokemon or FF4 might be legit, though your picture is a bit out of focus and I obviously can't feel the cartridge.

They have two different seals of quality, so I'm guessing one must be right laugh out loud

You'd think so, but I think they're both differently fake, unfortunately!

One of the telltale signs that I found was that the label itself (on Pokemon at least) is supposed to be slightly iridescent, and it's totally just a flat sticker with no shimmer. That, and there are giveaways about the back of the cartridge, as well as there are *supposed* to be stamped numbers above the seal. Here's some more pics (if SD will actually not fail at uploads for once):

Actually, you're right, the FF4 might be legit. I'll open em up and see what I can find inside. The Pokemons are not legit and the other FF is obviously not legit, as well as Golden Sun.
