Funny story. I got applied for and got a SkyMiles card a couple months ago when buying tickets on the delta website. Total about $2,100, cancelled within the 24 hour period, and still got the 50,000k miles.

l assume if you got the card two weeks ago you're out of luck..?

Yes, that is possible sometimes. However, they sometimes claw back the miles. If you already have the card why bother cancelling it for the first year? The annual fee is waived. I can understand doing that on the card where the fee isn't waived.

You can call and ask if they will bump you up to the other offer but there is no guarantee you qualified or if they will assist anyway. It is worth the phone call.
