Confirm if authorized dealer if you want an Onkyo warranty.

It does not look like the seller is on that authorized seller list but this is still a very good price for this receiver.

Does anyone know if I can use airplay to just play over the zone 2 speakers?

Thanks

I ended up going with the TX-RZ720 which was $480 + F/S via World Wide Stereo @ Newegg which is a auth dealer. It seems like they regularly hold this sale, because it was posted about a month ago and I clicked that link which took me to an ongoing flash sale that ended a few days ago. https://slickdeals.net/f/11084163-onkyo-tx-rz720-480-shipped?src=SiteSearchV2_SearchBarV2Algo1

I've been very happy with my Onkyo TX-NR808 which has lasted many years without any issues. Only reason I'm upgrading is for the 4k, another Zone for patio speakers and the HDCP 2.2 on all HDMI ports. I was going to go with the 676 but when I saw the 720 RZ series for $100 more, extra power and THX certified that's what made me jump.

There's a better deal now through Newegg Flash Sale if you don't mind a gift card.

I'm tempted to get this, but bummer that it's not approved seller. Thought about newegg, but I have to pay tax and don't need the $50 gc. The ebay listing has been lowered to $349 now, so even more temping.

I think it's a year warranty on this one when buying from a authorized reseller. If you're worried about longevity or warranties, maybe it's better to buy from eBay and add the Square Trade warranty for 49.99. Then you're covered through them for 3 years.

Onkyo authorized is 2 years on new, one year on refurbs.

Hm this seems like a good deal for the unit. It is on several of the lists for great receivers... thinking about pulling the trigger.

How is the RZ720? I've narrowed my choices down to the NR676 and the RZ720. The RZ720 has a 3 year warranty and seems to be higher quality (THX, better quality components, etc) but the 676 at $315 shipped is very tempting. There is also no guarantee that the $480 price will come back. Accessories4less has the refurbished 720 for $430 but with only a 1 year warranty.

Definitely liking the 720 but if you're not concerned about the higher quality parts they claim to use and the THX certification or the extra 10 watts that the 72p has I think, then the 676 is probably a great deal with pretty much all other features the same.

I went ahead and ordered the NR676 for $315 from the eBay seller Wholesale Connection. I had some $25 visa gift cards that I was able to convert to eBay gift cards which helped. The RZ720 seller, World Wide Stereo, also charges tax in my state so it was going to be a lot more no matter what.

The big question is whether or not Wholesale Connection is an Onkyo authorized dealer. The authorized seller list is pretty limited considering how many online stores there are out there:

Wholesale Connection is not on the the unauthorized list. Which is a good sign for a seller that has been around for a long time:

So this is covered by the Onkyo warranty. The Ebay seller is Wholesale Connection but it's actually sold and shipped by Electronics Express which is an Onkyo approved retailer. Wholesale Connection is a subsidiary of Electronics Express which is seller you use when registering the warranty.
