This Dash Cam provides 1080p HD video recording at 24fps or 720p at 30fps, 100 wide-angle recording to get the full view of the road and night vision, thanks to its built-in infrared light reader.

Automatically turns on and off when starting or shutting off your vehicle. Seamless loop recording allows the unit to record over old footage when the SD card fills up.

depends on what you need it for. i already have a dozen good cameras. so i'm looking for something cheap to work on, tear it apart, learn how to change batteries to capacitors, hack it, etc.

let's say you are an uber driver and you need something to mount just behind your headrest and record the car backseat behind you, nothing more, nothing less. don't need to read license plates, don't need wifi or bluetooth, don't need image stabie, doesn't need a huge memory card, or a whole bunch of unnecessary features, etc.

or maybe you have a small deck outside and you want to semi-perm mount this on an arm you rigged up so you can record anything that walks up on your porch. it's cheap so if you leave it plugged in 24/7 and after a year the battery explodes, so what. if one day you go out there and the squirrels have taken it, so what. at the end of summer, you've found that the sun has melted the len cover and the view is now partially obstructed.....

Thanks, saves me the work. Not worth throwing away money, but because it's such a small amount, there will be plenty of fish that take the bait

Just picked one up yesterday at this price. Haven't had a chance to try it out yet but for $9 if it works as described you can't go wrong.

Not sure how legal would be recording your back seat in Uber. You would have to clearly announce it to all passengers I guess. State dependent.
i think the video part would be ok with an announcement. the audio probably not. with a cheap camera that didn't have the mute option, i would take that camera apart and cut the mic. i wouldn't do that on a gopro but i'd do it in a heartbeat on this camera. so i don't know anything about uber, their rules, law for drivers, etc. that was just an example of some uses for a cheap camera with not a lot of power or features.
