Isn't is normally about $20, so is this really a SD?

Yes Amazon says discounted from $75, but it is NEVER that.

It's a saucepan, not a stockpot

Even for a saucepan this is too small, unless you're cooking a very small amount of sauce. I'd say for any couple or family you'd at least a 2qt or 2.5qt.

Great price for a good saucepan. I have this set and frequently wish I had another one this size.

Interesting that it shows available tomorrow for a locker pick-up.

I am very curious to know what sauce you need 6 cups of for two people.

For me, it's more about versatility. Yes a 1.5qt saucepan is perfect for 2 people, but what if I'm cooking for more? I'd rather have slightly bigger that can handle both jobs than not have one for the second job. A 1.5qt is a literal one trick pony.

Also, I tend to cook larger portions to encourage leftovers, but I understand that's very very situational.

It's small but it's quite useful for my 2 person household. I routinely use it to make lentil stew of different kinds that suffices for a dinner and leftover lunch the next day. Ofcourse we eat it with other vegetable dishes and bread, etc. But it's not so small that it is not useful. I have one from my multi clad pro set, elae I'd have bought.

Good deal. Seems like a good pan for instant noodles, but can't find the diameter info
