240GB are really getting so close to 120GBs in price. It's good to see SSDs becoming more affordable again, if only DDR4 could do the same sooner than Q3

I bought this exact drive. Arrived DOA. Newegg RMAed it at no cost to me and refunded entire purchase price. So far this year I am 0 for 2 with Adata. Perhaps they have a QC problem or I just have bad luck.

A-DATA SD cards and USB flash drives have been unreliable for years (just read the Newegg reviews). I guess they're also using inferior or rejected chips in their SSDs also to undercut other manufacturer's price.

I work in IT and have been using Adata SSDs for replacements of old or failing drives on laptops and desktops. We've put at least 30 of them out over the past few years and have seen exactly one failure. Adata's website was easy enough to navigate for a RMA and they replaced it without hassle.

Seems like a decent enough drive for the price. Speeds seem good.

ADATA reliability is average. For the price, it's fine. If you're looking for top tier reliability with your data, I'd recommend Samsung or Intel.

I have a smaller sample size of 3 adata ssd in my household, and I have also had no problems. 2 x sp550 and 1 sp900

Wondering what's new compared to the SU800 3D 256 GB version on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/ADATA-SU80...01K8A2A0E/

That one gets good reviews, seems to have slightly higher throughput and is currently $77.50. Obviously a bit more than this deal, but you get an extra 16 GB.

Edit: Fixed link. Thanks, hizzledizzle.

You linked the wrong one, but it looks like the su800 is a pretty poor drive. It uses the same controller as the Intel drives that were such poor performers. After the SLC cache is saturated it gets only 62MB/s reads.

Ha, Amazon just lowered their price to $74.99, and unlike NewEgg, they won't give you "Error Your email address is not valid for redemption of promo code EMCXPEEV2"

People are getting the error message because it was a targeted e-mail only to certain members. It worked for me.
