I would like to add this note from the same seller in regards to this deal:

"Note:

Please maintain horizontally plug in and try it with a little strength for the first time.
Google pixel 2 is equipped with C-port wall charger in official, so when you use USB C to A Cable or the A-port wall charger, it can only charge normally but can not support fast charges, because pixel 2 is using Google's private charging protocol.
If you want to charge quickly, you should use the pixel 2 original C-port wall charger and C to C cable.
This cable will not charge HUAWEI Mate 9 or OnePlus at full speed, as HUAWEI Supper Charge required 4.5V/5A and One Plus Dash Charge required 5V/4A, while the maximum output current of this cable is 3A.

am I wrong in my understanding that a USB-A charging ports won't provide enough power to charge a USB-C laptop, so these are really only good for phones and tablets, etc?

I don't know if it will provide enough power, it probably depends on the laptop, bigger/faster laptops must require more current than smaller laptops, like what used to be called netbooks. I get at least an amp (1000ma) from Type A to C cables with my Nexus 6p which I'm very satisfied with as a way to keep the charge up during the day or when using the phone around library USB charging ports which only Type A. That may be enough to run at least a smaller laptop or charge it, but maybe not both at the same time.

I'd be more concerned about cheaper noncompliant cables maybe damaging a laptop, like Benson Leung reported with his Google Chromebook laptop. That damage occured due to too much current being supplied by a noncompliant cable, not too little. I haven't had problems with my Nexus 6p with cheaper cables he hasn't tested but I'm only using them with a phone and not a high-powered laptop.

If you want to experiment I'd strongly suggest at least using (or learning more about and trying to get) the kind of cables Benson would "approve" of (literally, he has a list of cables he says are Benson Approved), and you may want to post your question about using various Type A cables for your purpose to tech support or users of your particular device for more specific nformation.

The quality should be OK. The price is not the lowest. It's almost a little lower than the average price. Worth trying

Got mine on sunday and been using it with my LG V20. Shows and measures (Accubattery & ebay USB current meter) 1.8A fast charging. In terms of feel seems pretty good. The molding, USB-A plastic header, and USB-C connector don't feel thin or too cheap. The nylon jacket on the cable is very nice and has a really premium feel, plastic parts I would rate as mid-range. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the USB-C metal connector was plain faced on both sides unlike other cheap cables that have one side plain faced and the other size with the rectangular zig-zag where the metal comes interlocking together (Remember when USB-C cables first came out this was one of the identifiers of companies going cheap). So the only slight downsides as far as I could tell is how "clean" the edges of moldings are, its not perfect but very minor imperfections.
