Bolded thread title links when logged out now

145 17 January 18, 2018 at 08:58 AM
As of a couple days ago, all of the thread title links have font-weight: bold; element on them when logged out. This used to only be the case when logged into the site. Any way to revert this back to no bold? I find that is easier to read.

Hi, You mean on the full site I assume not mobile. Which version, classic or redesign?

Hi. Yes on full desktop site both classic and redesign view. It looks like the bold style is applied on mobile view as well. These only used to all be bolded if you were logged in. Thanks.

Hi. If I'm understanding the situation correctly, the bold text is indicating which threads are unread. You can mark all threads in a forum as read at once, thus clearing off all the bold text until a new thread is created for that forum. To do this, when viewing the thread list for the forum such as here: https://slickdeals.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=5
click on the 'Forum Tools' button then select 'Mark This Forum Read'.

Thanks thats helpful! Just wish it was doing that as the default for logged out like before since this will now be an extra step I will need to perform every time I load a forum.

How about adding a query string param that marks the forum read by default that I could just add to a bookmark?

Bump.

Any way to get a default option or flag to set forum always marked as read, non-bolded?

Thanks.
