Just an anecdote, but I tried this router and it was OK for just a few devices at a time, but when it came to a few fire TV's, some echos, and 4 phones, it totally choked. I wouldn't recommend this at all if your home's WiFi is busy.

The ea8500 did much better.

New ones are based on a mediatek chipset with much lower USB 3.0 performance than the original with a QCOM chipset so cannot use this as a NAS like original or the WRT series.

Decent router, range no better than a really old router though. And I'd never pay that much. Paid $31 on eBay.

I signed up the the promotions email on the site and received an email with a 15% promo code 6 hours after I ordered the modem. Patience is a virtue I guess. Sales person on chat suggests calling customer service to get a credit on my charge card.

This is why I am still on an ancient crap router. For as much as they cost, they are all mostly total crap. Are there any actual good ones?
