TurboTax Free Edition - Simple tax returns (1040EZ/1040A)

60 million hard-working Americans can file their federal (1040EZ/1040A) and state taxes for free and so can you, if you:

Made less than $100,000
Don't own a home or rental property
Didn't sell investments
Don't own a business or have 1099-MISC income
Don't have any major medical expenses

I bet most people would rather pay to file taxes and have these opposite criteria (problems) instead:

Made MORE than $100,000
Own a home or rental property
Bought and Sold investments
Own a business or have 1099-MISC income

Those are your standard criteria to be a middle class American. Sure, if you're making boatloads of money, your personal CPA would take care of all the filings for you (not turbo tax). Save this message and show it to your grand kids someday, so they know what the figures were in year 2018 to be a middle class citizen.

I just received an email from Chase stating that I can file my SIMPLE federal and state for free with Turbotax.

I am unsure if this is only for Chase customers or not. This was a part of Chase's "savingsweek" promo email.
