Soon this version will be mostly obsolete, like the first Destiny vanilla was.

I know Destiny 2 gets a lot of flak these days, but as one of the few who still enjoys it - do not buy the vanilla disk, wait for the digital version to be on sale and get it with released and future expansions.

Oh yeah and they improved from Destiny 1. However the game is built to be online only (even for the campaign) so you'll need to be plugged in at all times.

I've seen it around the $27 -$29 Mark lately and it's only been out a little over 4 months. When the next expansion comes out it will probably drop to $19.99 (when it's on sale I mean). Walmart has permanently rolled it back to $39.99 so that means their sales will use that price as a starting point (saw it on sale there for $29.99 last week)

Yes, one that is tiresome after a single run. Fun fact: if you do not beat the campaign mode, you do not get Tower access. Or Nightfall strikes. Or Heroic strikes. Meaning, every character you make requires you to run the stupid missions, otherwise you end up severely neutered and unable to play with other people.

Fun fact two: run heroic Public Events for fast leveling, with the bonus that you can even solo them. Three hours of back-to-back heroic runs should get you roughly 10 levels, and will get you up to level 20-25 fairly quickly. Use the level advantage to beat the stupid story missions, more preciously: just run through them. Realistically, if you have an entire day free, you should be able to get a brand new character up to 25 and full Tower access in less than 12 hours. The slowest part is doing the missions that unlock the public events. Nessus and EDZ are your friend for Public Events

Fun fact three: unlike D1, D2's crucible matches suck for leveling. Don't waste your time. Same for the story mode. In the time you'd run 1/3-1/2 of the story missions, you could have gotten a level 7-8 character up to level 20.
