I played with one of these live models and I just couldn't get over the frosted display. It was irritating like I just wanted to rip the frosted part off because it's all blurry

Right now its a dollar cheaper from Rakuten, if you use the SAVE15 coupon instead.

I thought that would be annoying too but I hardly ever look at the thermostat, 99% of the time I'm using the app or voice control via google home or echo.

I took a look at this thing at Home Depot and it looks likes a toy. I would rather save up and get the actual Nest or get something else.

I've had the $99 Honeywell from Home Depot for three years. Works flawlessly.

I have one of these still and a Nest. My honeywell on the first floor is starting to fail (will be the 2nd failed of 3 I've had). I can't wait for the excuse to get the Nest. The main features I love in the Nest is I have it set to override the schedule based on if it detects my wife's or my phone in the area rather than just follow the schedule like a robot. Scheduling the fan to run is another feature missing from the honeywell and being able to see how long the furnace ran for is pretty neat too. Now whether those features consittute the extra expense of a Nest is another story and varies person to person Smilie

My $40 thermostat displays the time, this >$100 doesn't. Frown
Still love it though. Thermostat is on the 3rd floor. Like being able to turn on the heater from my phone when I'm on the first floor.

Just remember to check your electricity provider's website. For example, Georgia Power has this for $84.50 and has the 3rd gen Nest for $149.

Those prices are after rebate. My state doesn't have a store, but does have a $75 rebate I can get after buying it somewhere else. So finding the best deal around is additional savings.

I have to go with the ecobee 3 with the 3 sensors from Costco for 200 plus tax. At least I can return it easily if there is a problem and I still get the 75 dollars back from the gas company
