Amazon Apparent changes to Subscribe & Save

-5 Deal Score
I will start the thumbs down and yes I'm a prime member thru 2022 ( MetroPCS deal) but this blows and Amazon needs to reverse course immediately

Apparent changes to Subscribe & Save
I just noticed two big adverse changes to the program:

If you do not have Prime, the $25 minimum for free shipping now applies. This is per order submission of Subscribe & Save items, not per monthly shipment. That is, if I already have $25+ in this month's S&S, submitting another order for a $3 item to be in the same box would require paying shipping.
The higher-tier discount for ordering 5 or more items in a single S&S shipment is only effective starting with the second shipment (e.g. "Save 5% now and up to 15% on auto-deliveries starting Mar 1. Skip or cancel anytime.")
Good deal?

According to another thread you can still do the old 15% off first , just Amazon needs to
Update certain browsers and apps so it shows correctly

I came here to talk about this issue, mainly, the "5% now, 15% second time" thing. I don't know about what was said above about certain browsers, that sounds a little odd and hard to believe. It sure seems to me that what they wanted to do was prevent the "15% off once and cancel" purchases, which I do all the time! For example, I use an electric shaver and I need to replace the blades only once a year. So, I need to create and cancel the subscription each time to get it just once a year with 15% off (because I always buy at least 5 items a month). What they're doing here is trying to stop this while telling us it's a "great new feature".

However, guess what, I found a workaround! I would have thought they'd prevent this, but they haven't. I just successfully did this:
  1. Order the item, adding subscribe and save for every month (must be every month)
  2. Immediately cancel the order you just placed
  3. The item will still be in your S&S list. click on the next month's delivery and move it up to your current month
  4. Profit, old school style

I did this moments ago, hopefully the item doesn't mysteriously disappear or anything. Let's hope people hate this enough to get them to reverse course.
