This one is a lot better. It has better blades, a stronger motor and the LCD display is digital & provides accurate battery life. The other one usually has issues with the LEDs that display battery life dying early.

I have thick hairs & the other one took a lot longer to give me a clean shave. This one on the other hand, provides a smoother & cleaner shave in less time. This has now become my go to shaver when I'm out in the field. I highly recommend this one if you need an electric shaver.

What's the difference between this and the $30 one on Newegg?

Got this last time from the fairly regular Newegg Flash deals.

It does a better job shaving than my old entry model $35 phillips norelco rotary shaver, but I am honestly not too impressed with the product. Lighter, cheaper feeling plastic and still requires a few passes for my shadow. The shave while cleaner is definitely a bit rougher on the skin. I also ffound the back flip-out trimmer to be quite inferior to the phillips, idk what it is but it grabbed/pulled hairs alot, was irritating.

I'd say this should be in the $30-35 range, but of course $40 is not that egregious of an overpay. battery life screen is a neat feature I guess.

I have this and love it. Battery life is great, replacement blades/foil are easy to find. I would buy it again.

About the same, 93's motor is 8% faster, but I like the smaller head on the 8013.
93 has a bigger, heftier feel to it, 8013 is lighter. Durability on both are very good.

pulled hairs are usually dull cutting surfaces or loosened blade spacing in my experience. How much use had the shaver had when it did this to you?

I purchased this one last month due to Norelco stopping making the original RQ12 heads and their new head pulled any hair longer than 1mm.

I echo what everyone else says.. this product works fine. It takes a few passes, its not as clean of a shave, but it works. It's cheap plastic, but feels solid enough. The trimmer is definitely substandard, not sure how long it will last since it seems so fragile. Still disappointed in comparison to my Norelco... any other suggestions where the manufacturer still makes heads 6months down the line that aren't substandard?
