CRKT Pilar 5311 Folding knife. Jesper Voxnaes design. 2.4" Flat Grind, satin finish, 4.1oz folder. Lowest on CCC is $22.05. Free shipping with prime.

Made in China, 8Cr13MoV steel.

Not a prime member. Select other sellers and The Roost Sports has it for $22.63 with free shipping.

Very cool and unique knife. Little heavy but it continues to find its way in to my EDC rotation.

This is a much better deal for the money, and is still available. Same steel as in the Pilar. The Pilar was also a couple bucks cheaper two weeks ago.

Do yourself a favor and hold both. Squid is fine but the Pilar feels pretty awesome. Superior design and aesthetics. Squid definitely a great value but I typically only buy Spyderco, Benchmade, etc and carry the Pilar quite a bit. Squid is currently sitting in my car door.

I bought the CRKT squid and there is a gap big gap between the blade and liners/frame. Blade play is more apparent after just 15 minutes of just opening and closing the knife.

Even My Spyderco ladybug($35 cheapest) with FRM(plastic handle) have less blade play than steel liner/frame CRKT squid.

Decent video review here:

Pretty sexy looking knife, but deal isn't much of a SD.

Personally I like the Pilar more than the Squid since the squid has a little more curve on it's tip making it slightly harder to sharpen and the Pilar's blade is pretty thick making it very rugged..

Fantastic knife, it's been my daily carry knife for a while, slices things open with ease and came shaving sharp out of the box

Based on camelcamelcamel....this is $0.58 higher than the lowest it ever was, which was last week.

I already have the squid, which is a shorter blade than this, but good find!

looks like a great blade for the price but I have too many knives.

Plus I usually just carry a blur or a pm2 and thats pretty much it now a days.

Did you try tightening the hinge screw? Not saying this is you, but sooooo many folks complain about blade play or stiff deployment and never think to adjust or lubricate the knife.
