This is a full frame lens unlike the 18-35mm f/1.8, if anyone's curious why it's so expensive.

Also amazing sharpness at f/1.4.

Hey, you know this is not a good deal, right?

I think you posted better deals than this before or someone from your slickdeals staff.

Buydig via ebay sold this combo for $599.
It was steal deal and many jumped on it. Someone said it could be price mistake as well but that deal popped up again later after few days from first deal - so that's not even a price mistake but very very good deal/price.

I do not know if buydig will ever run such deal until next holidays and if someone is not on the fence to get this lens, they can just wait out for such deals to pop out again.

I believe you are thinking of the 18-35mm lens which is different.

Tempted to get this lens. The only lens I have is the 24-70 2.8 ii from canon. Would be nice to have a prime lens but this overlaps with the focal range I already have.

Don't look at just the focal range. A prime does so much more. Lower F stop and much better bokeh. The crispness is hard to match with a ranged lens.

ETA- I have zero experience with this lens though. My other Sigmas have sadly seen several trips to the factory for adjustments. I own 2 and they were problems at first. This lens does have a good initial reputation though.

I have the 50 1.4 and 85 1.4 and this lens is in the same ART category. These lenses are very nice and they're built like tanks. I was a Canon guy for 20 years and was skeptical on the Sig Art series until I tried one. I'm sold.

I have the Nikon mount of the Sigma 35A. It's a great lens. Usually, dock is $59 or so, plus make sure you register lens so that you get the 4 year warranty.

What do you guys usually use the 35mm? I don't think it's a good choice for portraits on a FF. I felt that the subject's face is more flattened with this. I really liked the 85mm for portraits, been waiting for a deal. It's a whopping $1100 now. Anyone use this for portraits? Can you share your experience?
