There are limited round trip tickets travelling from Denver (DEN) to Belize City (BZE) for $371 with one stop on American, Delta or Southwest Airlines. These are main cabin, regular economy fares. However, on Southwest Airlines, even their "wanna getaway" fares include 2 free carry-ons, 2 free checked bags and no fee for changes or cancellations. I like Southwest.

Travel Availability on American and Delta:
Departs DEN: Feb 5, 6, 7, 22; April 3-4, 10-12, 17-19, 24-26; May 1-3, 8-10
Returns: good availability returns, 7-day stay

Travel Availability on Southwest Airlines:
Departs DEN: Feb 27, 28; March 5, 7; April 4, 9, 16, 19, 23, 24 30;
Returns Feb 28; March 1, 5-8, 12-14, 21; April 9-12, 16-19, 23-26, 30; May 1-3, 7-10, 14-17, 23-24

For American and Delta, use dates and book it on Expedia [expedia.com] to see which airline/flights works best for you. For Southwest, use dates and book directly on Southwest Airlines [southwest.com].

Interested. The people that I've talked to that have been say you need to plan on taking a 2nd flight or a ferry to San Pedro. Does anyone have any opinion on the best place(s) to stay on a budget? We're fans of the all-inclusive lay by a pool for a week and swim up to a bar type situation. Not really looking to go on all sorts of excursions or adventures for this trip.

I was checking that out too. Seems AirBNB has been better lately than VRBO so I'll check everything out. We have zero problems staying at a resort though if the deal is right and the rooms are nice. All-inclusive would be a bonus but not sure they're as prevalent as say Cabo or Cancun.

We're going to Belize from 2/5-2/18. We're spending absolutely zero time in Belize city. First part of the trip will be San Pedro in the cayes. Next part is the interior where we will be staying near San Ignacio and the last part is Consejo/Corozal where we will be looking at some property near the water to build on. We're doing Airbnb for the entirety as we're taking our two year old with us for this trip. We're not resort people anyway and enjoy just finding our way around and getting tips from locals. Most of the resorts are in the cayes. Going interior there are some eco resorts like Monkey Bay which we thought about, but still a little too structured for us.

BTW, we're taking a plane from the airport to San Pedro as the ferry ride is 80 minutes long and would have run us about $100 for all three after factoring in a cab ride to the port. Plane ride from Maya air was $215 for all three but takes 15 minutes. Easy choice for me, especially when dealing with a toddler.

I can't speak for mainland Belize, but Ambergris Caye was perfect for a long weekend.

Hey I have a doppelgänger! I'm headed to Belize in April on a SD Delta mile award deal (14k miles round trip non stop plus $77 in taxes!). I know exactly the locations, flights and locations you are talking about. I am staying in Caye Caulker instead of San Pedro this time but Both places are super nice. I am also traveling interior for a few days in a 4x4 making the drive to Yunatunnich and staying at the same resort that my National Geographic film crew stays at when they go to Belize. I've taken both the boat ferry and the airplane ride out of San Pedro. It is beautiful there and I am staying a total of zero days in Belize City.
