OP has a typo in the model number. It's DT01ACA300. This drive has been $75 from Newegg in Sep/Dec 15, Jan-Mar 16, Aug/Oct 17, so $70 is the best price yet but only by $5.

Pretty safe assumption. I would always assume unless an external HD specifically says 7200 RPM that it is a 5400 RPM "green" drive.

Question: I'm thinking of this or the elements portable for my Xbox One. Any advantage to the desktop version vs. the portable? Is the desktop any faster? More reliable?

Desktops will have higher transfer rates and can be swapped to a standard enclosure if the housing fails, the portable has an integrated USB.

GTK- Greens were the only drives to ever die on me at or before the 1 year mark in a total of 100's of drives purchased. Both at around

Atho they used to have blues well before greens existed. Blues i used to get were 7200rpm but i think had lower cache than blacks and / or lower performance.
