I bought a few pounds of nyjer seed and the songbirds didnt even care for it. Need to do some research as to what birds love it.

We have goldfinches and house finches where I live, which are the sort of small birds these are designed for, but they like black oil sunflower seeds just as much. Menards sells 50 pounds of sunflower seeds for less than $20, so it's clearly a much better value. Plus, the sunflower seeds attract almost every single other bird (including the furry ones with the fluffy tails), too.

Finches love thistle seed (which is what this is). I have 5 feeders and the finches and chickadees fight over every one of them. It's a blast.

If you really want to have fun with the birds, get an app from Cornell University called Merlin. You can play bird call audio, and the chickadees land 2 feet away to check me out.

Unless your cat is to much distracted by birds or just lazy

S&S option no longer available. You can skip the add-on only by adding the item to you cart then asking Alexa "order Finch sock feeder twin pack."

If you have the money, it is cheaper per-ounce to buy the socks and 10-pounds of seed separate. Goldfinches love this stuff and go through it quickly.
