B&H is offering the highly acclaimed and sought after Sony a7R III for $2878.20. The retail price is $3198, for a savings of $320. I've scoured the internet trying to find an even lower price for a credit card price match, but I've come up short. This is an incredible price coming from an authorized retailer, but it does require you to register your .edu email address first [bhphotovideo.com]. The process is automated and it confirms you within about 20 minutes. Be sure to check your spam folder for approval.

I've already been shooting with mine, you can see photo samples on my flickr page [flickr.com].

This could also help you get a Citi Price Rewind or similar. YMMV

If you're new to photography, I have found that learning and increasing your skills goes much further than just buying top notch gear. I'd just hold off, get better and by then there will be even newerr and better gear out worthy of your upgrade Smilie

Only if it had geo tagging. I would miss this going from a canon.
You can still geotag using the Sony PlayMemories Mobile app [jamesb.com].

Nanpalmero, what lens did you use for the photos? I plan on the 55mm 1.4 and the 24-240mm zoom lens

Thank you for the kind words. The in body image stabilization (IBIS) is amazing.

I shot all the outdoor photos on the Zeiss Batis 25/2. In the Flickr app or on a desktop, it hit the info or view EXIF info and it tells you everything.

Not sure if I want to upgrade from 5d mark iv. I'm new to photography still. Very tempted to buy this body to learn on.

The tech in the canon seems so outdated compared to the newer Sony. I just bought the 5d last month on Slickdeals since it was a good deal at 2200.

Thanks OP. First real discount I've seen on the iii, although not everyone has access to an .edu email address. I've got an alumni.edu address from the college I graduated from in 1982; may try to register it just to see if it works. The fine print says you also have to submit a copy of your student/faculty ID and a class schedule. Is B&H not enforcing those other requirements...?

I was excited that Sony included pixel shift in this body, but I've heard the implementation is kludgy and user-unfriendly compared to, say, the Pentax K1. I do a lot of studio-type macro work and so the feature is actually useful for me. Decided I'm going to hold out for a Sony body that offers both pixel shift and automated focus stacking, assuming Sony ever gets around to it.

You're right. The tech is less sophisticated while both are still amazingly incredible cameras! You cannot lose either way.
