For Alienware desktop, yes this is a good deal because Alienware devices are always costlier than Inspiron and XPS line of products with similar configuration.

Another good thing thing is if you want more Graphics power, you can upgrade this to GTX 1080 by just paying $98 extra. That is also a very little to pay for a 1080 considering the current market price.

Mine crypto for a few months and get it for free.
Assuming that the market continues to maintain. A short term shock to the general equity market could have a catastrophic impact on crypto. The payout potential is there but lets not kid that it's a high risk high reward scenario.

There was a deal a few months back for this with a the i7 7700k and an upgrade to the 1070 founder edition for $1059 with slick deals rebate. Not impressed with this deal vs that. Been waiting and it never has come back online but it was offered 2x in 2017 and I hesitated like a fool
The 8th gen CPUs offer a substantial CPU bump though.

I haven't checked the benchmarks but how would you rate the i700k (liquid cooled) vs this i5? Forgot to mention that other deal was a liquid cooled for like $50 more

Liquid cooled like an all-in-one liquid cooler? Those don't actually offer any substantial benefits over a good air cooler, with the exception of noise and more flexibility around case airflow.

EDIT: Also, it looks like the 8400 is NOT better than the 7700k unless you value the non hyperthreaded dedicated cores (which most people wont care about).

Looks like the other deal was also for a 1080 so I can't behind this deal. Still waiting. They ran this same one for $999 in November too
